Description:

“Love Rhapsody” music theater piece extension of the Laser Avatar project.

This theater piece leverages much of the experience acquired during the different phases of the “Laser Avatar” thematic. Love Rhapsody is a music theater piece composed to celebrate the Liszt centenary year of Franz Liszt. 2 dancers and 1 drum player performs the piece using leaser beams which act as laser avatars for the “sonification” and visualization  of the gestures of the performers. The music is based on Liszt’s piano pieces, the Hungarian Rhapsody No 2 and the Love’s Dream No 3. Two leaser beams control processed sound files containing piano quotations and synthesized sounds scaled according to the pitch material of the above mentioned pieces. The music is connected to different laser animations reacting both to the movements of the players and the sound levels of the sound files.

The piece created will be performed in different theaters and festivals in Hungary, which will be good occasion for the future dissemination of one of the many results of the CO-ME-DI-A project.
