Laser Avatar project followup

Two dancers in two different cities interact with each other performing music on laser harps. The two venues are connected together on the internet, and the dancers’ gestures are visualized in form of laser beam animations (laser avatars) and use “sonification” controlled by laser sensors driving music generating software.

Objective:

The main goals were creating, rehearsing and presenting new pieces by Johannes Kretz, Ádám Siska, Andrea Szigetvári written in the framework of the “LaserAvatar” project.

Results:

The rehearsals and a concert performed in the same time at Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg and Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Vienna connected together with the help of Internet.

Target group:

Composers, computer musicians, dancers, contemporary art audience.

Number of participants/visitors/audience :

• Audience: 100 persons.
