Audio aspects of network performance

This was the second of two workshops dedicated to presentation and audio aspects of network performance respectively. The presentation workshop took place 9-11 March (see above), the audio 11-12 June.

Objective:

The workshops aimed to collectively devise network dramaturgies, develop models for performance and agree on technical infrastructure required to implement the models.

Results:

Development of Audio and Visual strategies for implementation in the context of the CO-ME-DI-A artistic showcase events in the Fall of 2010. The workshops provided an opportunity to develop new presentation models for network performance.

These have been discussed and presented in a wide variety of contexts:

• Paper presentation at the International Conference of the IMS Study Group “Music and Media” with Felipe Hickmann on “Audiovisual strategies for rendering presence in networked music performance” Berlin 25–27 June, 2010 Humboldt University Berlin.

• Presentation by Pedro Rebelo and Franziska Schroeder at EIMAS, Brazil (September 2010).
