EACEA Culture Project on Network Performance in Music

EyesWeb Week (February 2008)

Place/Dates: UGDIST, Casa Paganini – InfoMus Lab, Genova, Italy, February 11 – 15, 2008

Description:

EyesWeb Week

The EyesWeb Week is a one-week tutorial aiming at providing scientists, technicians, and artists with the opportunity to master and explore in detail the EyesWeb project and open platform (www.eyesweb.org). Lectures and experiments are structured in different tracks: a track is specifically designed for dancers, choreographers, musicians, and content creators. A parallel track concerns the internals and core architecture of the new EyesWeb XMI platform and related libraries for multimodal analysis, and it is focused for computer engineers and professionals. Sample hands-on and installations are faced, starting from previous artistic works participated and co-designed by Casa Paganini – InfoMus Lab.

Objective:

Disseminating technologies potentially relevant for the project (e.g., the EyesWeb XMI platform) to Comedia partners; disseminating the Comedia Project within the EyesWeb community; fostering discussion on Comedia topics envisaging possible prototypes of networking performances.

Results:

The Comedia Project has been directly involved in the EyesWeb Week. Participants from Comedia partners attended the workshop. Some of the hands-on and discussions focused on key topics for Comedia (networked performance).
