International Computer Music Conference 2008 Network Panel

International Computer Music Conference: Network Panel  (including all Comedia Partners plus invited guests (Jerome Joy, Ian Sinclair) and Associated Partners (Robert Rowe, Miller Puckett, Pauline Oliveros, Chris Chafe) and Network Concerts (Roots Ensemble, SARC, Pauline Oliveros RPI, Chris Chafe, Juan Pablo Caceres CCRMA). ICMC streamed two concerts per day which were made available on the web.

Objective:

To bring together partners, associated partners and other experts in a discussion panel on network performance framed by position papers published in the proceedings. To present network specific performances to the International Computer Music research and artistic community.

Results:

Publication of position papers on the ICMC proceedings, Contacts with other experts in the field, public performances.

Target group:

ICMC Delegates, wider public through web site and streaming

Description:

HFMT Participation in the 2008 ICMC in Belfast

Objective:

Lecture by Nick Didkovsky and Georg Hajdu as well two concerts by European Bridges Ensemble; participation in the COMEDIA network music panel.

Results:

Presentation of a research topic relevant to network music in front of an international audience. Two concerts of the European Bridges Ensemble featuring current practice of network music (including an example of real-time composition and notation).

Target group:

Conference participants, general audience.

• roughly 60 audience members.
